The former Denmark midfielder, who is to appeal against a four month prison sentence for assaulting a restaurant manager in Copenhagen, has been told his Bolton contract will terminate next June.

Speculation has since grown that the midfielder will move to his hometown club AGF Aarhus when the transfer window opens in January.

But Tofting said: "I owe it to all the Wanderers fans to play and perform for this football club.

"As far as I am concerned, I am going nowhere. I want to help Bolton climb up the league."
