Reo-Coker sets sights on England

The midfielder, a former England under-21 captain, has been on the verge of a call-up to the senior squad in the past and last year rejected an invitation to play for Sierra Leone.

Asked if he had his sights set on reviving his England prospects having signed for Bolton, Reo-Coker said: "Yes, definitely. Playing consistently makes a difference and I hope having come here to get consistent games, and then we will go from there."

The 27-year-old certainly has the backing of his new manager Owen Coyle.

"We'd love to get him back to that level because I believe he's capable of doing that," the Bolton boss said.

"For us, he brings real Premier League experience and quality. He is strong in possession and strong in the tackle. He keeps the ball the well, keeps it moving and I think he has great football intelligence.

"This is a real opportunity and a platform for him to show everybody what we believe - that he is a top class player."
