Jon Otsemobor has returned to Liverpool after revealing that his loan spell with Bolton Wanderers had not gone as well as he expected and he will now complete the rest of the season in the reserves at Anfield.

The 21-year old player joined Wanderers with just minutes of the transfer deadline to spare but made only one appearance for the Trotters in the 3-1 defeat against Manchester City back in February.

Otsemobor will have to be content with reserve team football for the rest of the season after league rules state the player can only play in first team matches for Bolton between now and June which would have been the end of the loan agreement had the player chosen to stay at the Reebok Stadium.

Commenting on his situation the Liverpool born defender felt that under the circumstances it was better to return to his home city and train for the rest of the season if he wasn't going to get an opportunity with Bolton.

"The manager told me my opportunities would be few and far between and I told them the situation wasn't going to be any better for me at Bolton than it was at Liverpool." he told the Liverpool official site

"I know I'm in the same situation as Neil Mellor and I'm not allowed to be involved with the first team now this season. But I'd much rather be training here."

Ironically the player could return to the Wanderers at the end of the month as Liverpool reserves face Bolton on the 24th April in the final FA Premier Reserve League game of the 2003-2004 season.
