Galatasaray issue court threat

Bulent moved to the Reebok from Galatasary in the summer as a free agent - but the Turkish side are claiming he had already extended his contract with them.

And Galatasaray lawyer Jean-Louis Dupont is threatening court action unless they are compensated for the deal: "We at Galatasaray said that he had signed a contract, and he says no and goes to Bolton and signs another contract," he told news.bbc.co.uk

"According to Bolton he was a free agent, but according to us he was a player under contract to Galatasaray. What is at stake is the question of contractual stability in football.

"He had been a Galtasaray player for two years and according to us he had extended his contract for two more years, so he was under contract.

"He says it was a private contract not a proper contract, because it was not done on the standard contract of the Turkish FA.

"A private contract is, in our view, a perfectly legal contract, which was not established on the standardised documents provided by the Turkish FA."

The Turkish sides lawyer confirmed that no talks had taken place with Bolton, who seem certain fight the issue.

"We don't have to speak to them. We are in court. They will appoint a lawyer and each of us will do our job.

"The problem is the damage created to Galatasaray, and we consider the damage is at least the price Galatasaray had to pay to acquire that player.

"On top of that, we think we have other damages, one of them, being the chaos such an attitude created in the Galatasaray locker room.

"We want justice."
