The Norway international has been keen on a move to one of Europe's top leagues this summer, with his contract due to expire at the end of the year.

English and French clubs have been chasing Braaten, but it appears Bolton have won the race for the 25-year-old.

Braaten told Dagbladet, "I guess I should put the 'on' button on more."
"I don't know much about the place, but I do know some of the players and a little bit about the club.

"It seems exciting. Definitely a step up."

Director of sports Rune Bratseth told the official Rosenborg website, "This is of course a loss, but we have no choice. He would have gone for free after this season, therefore we can't say no."

"The first bid on Friday was around 3 million Norwegian kroner. The negotiations this weekend forced the transfer fee up to 5 million NOK. For Bolton it was important to close the deal before the Champions League qualifyer against Astana tomorrow, as they want to use Braaten in the UEFA Cup later on."

His Rosenborg career lasted for exactly three years. Sadly an "everlasting" groin injury had a negative influence on the stay for the Norway international with 13 caps. In total the two-footed winger played 101 matches and scored 15 goals for RBK.
