Wanderers` squad is on the small side and Coyle is keen to cover all eventualities for the final four months of the season.
"I'd be surprised if it came to the end of January and we hadn't added one or two to help what we have got," said Coyle.
"Disappointed would be one feeling, frustrated would be another. We were quite flush at Stoke because we had 17. We need one or two more.
"We'll try and get the right players in over the next couple of weeks but they have to be the right players to help our group."
