"I suspect we might let him go if the deal is right for us and for him," Allardyce told the club's official website.
"Jared's had a steep learning curve and found the physicality of the Premiership hard going.
"If he does end up staying, then I hope he can learn from his experiences in his opening season in England.
"With the right application, he can play a more major part for us."
