The Mexican said: "I have a belief in what I can do. Maybe the coach isn't totally convinced yet, but whenever he gave me the chance to play, I was useful for the team. I've no regrets. I knew where I was going, and I am happy where I am.

"The Premiership is one of the most important leagues in the world, and I am glad to be playing in it. If nobody kicks me out, I expect to be staying at Bolton."

Borgetti believes the best way to impress his Bolton manager would be to gain the golden boot.

"That's my plan. I have a reputation as a top scorer in my country, and still haven't been able to show it in England. I expect, first of all, to be useful to Mexico, but if I can also score a lot of goals to demonstrate what I am worth, so much the better."
