The former England U16 international is being made available on a Free Transfer by Bolton after finding it hard to impose himself at reserve team level.
Gillan 18, was one of a number of players whom the Shrews looked at during a reserve team match with Rochdale last week but unfortunately the young Mancunian will now have to look elsewhere.
