Two second half goals by Guatemalan international striker Dwight Pezzarossi gave Bolton reserves their second win in a week as they defeated Newcastle United reserves 2-3 at Whitley Park.

It was no more than the Trotters deserved having battled hard for their victory and since the New Year there has been an improvement in their results in the FA Premier Reserve league.

However it was the Mapies who opened the scoring when Portuguese international Hugo Viana struck the ball past Donovan Ricketts in the Bolton goal from 25 yards in just the fourth minute.

Wanderers found themselves back on level terms shortly after half time when Pezzarossi hit the first of his tally for the evening with a header which sailed over Magpies keeper Tony Caig into the net. Then on the hour the on loan Communicaciones striker made it 2-1 to Bolton following in an his initial shot which had thundered off the crossbar.

Michael Chopra then drew level for Newcastle with 15 minutes remaining but it was Portuguese striker Ricardo Vaz-Te who sealed victory for Bolton when firing under Caig from twelve yards in the final few minutes of the game.
