Everton Reserves inflicted further misery on their Bolton Wanderers counterparts as a third minute strike from Patrizio Pascucci gave the Merseysiders the points at Haig Avenue last night.

The young forward fired past Bolton's keeper Donovan Ricketts to score the only goal following a good pass by Toffees defender Daniel Fox but the Trotters had Jamaican international Ricketts to thank for a number of fine saves to stop Everton from increasing their lead notably from Gavin Lynch in the 17th minute.

Strikers Ricardo Vaz-Te and Javi Moreno had chances to bring Wanderers back into the game with the Spaniard Moreno in particular missing a glorius opportunity to bring the scores level after Toffees keeper Steve Simonsen had saved his initial effort.

Bolton's night was made even worse midway through the second half as defender Charlie Comyn-Platt was sent off for a challenge on former Oldham Athletic loanee Stephen Schumacher.

The defeat barring a miracle now means that Wanderers will finish the season at the bottom of the FA Premier Reserve League with just Middlesbrough and Liverpool left to play.
