Javi Moreno - on the scoresheet
Bolton Wanderers reserve team ended a run of bad form by finally securing a much needed win against Birmingham City in the FA Premier Reserve League which lifted them off the bottom of the table.

Two second half goals at the Reebok Stadium by Javi Moreno and Stelios Giannakopoulos gave the experienced Wanderers side all three points over the Blues who had only Aliou Cisse with any first team experience in their line up.

Former Manchester City and Derby County player Georgi Kinkladze, currently on trial with the Trotters gave a good account of himself on his Bolton debut creating chances for strike duo Henrik Pedersen and Moreno. Recent signing Jon Otsemobor was also very impressive in the right full back position and it was from an assist by the on-loan Liverpool defender in which Bolton took the lead. Otsemobor played the ball into the path of Moreno and the former Alaves player skipped past the Birmingham defender with ease before slotting the ball past Colin Doyle in the Blues goal.

In Giannakopoulos on the right and Kinkladze on the left Bolton had a continous attacking threat and it was no surprise when on 68 minutes that the Wanderers doubled their advantage. Moreno saw his shot well saved by Doyle but the rebound found its way to Giannakopoulos who had the simple task of tapping the ball into the net.

This result will no doubt be a huge lift for Wanderers Reserves who last registered a win against Sunderland in the autumn, hopefully then can build on the last two recent results and pull away from the bottom of the table.
