Bolton Wanderers Reserves 1 Everton Reserves 4

Bolton Wanderers reserves got off to the worst possible start to the FA Premier Reserve League season when they crashed 4-1 at home to Everton reserves at The County Ground.

Trotters midfielder Derek Niven had given the Wanderers the perfect start when he headed the Wanderers in front on four minutes to give Bolton a 1-0 lead but on 22 minutes the scores where level when Leon Osman fired home his first of the night scoring from the rebound from Stephen Schumacher's free kick to bring the away side back into the game, Everton started to control and this was evident when on 30 minutes Osman added a second.

The young forward turned home Kevin McLeod's cross to increase Everton's lead, Alan Moogan made it 3-1 for Everton a few minutes later when he picked up a neat lay off from Osman on 34 minutes to fire past Bolton keeper Jeremy Bon, however this was Bon's last action of the game and the Wanderers goalkeeper who left the field through injury and he was replaced by Ashley Timms between the sticks. Bolton offered little in the way of a response with Delroy Facey, Cleveland Taylor and Jermaine Johnson all unable to find a way through, and a miserable night was complete when Osman bagged his hat trick from the spot having been upended two minutes from time by stand in keeper Timms.
