Portuguese youngster Ricardo Vaz-Te continued his invincible goalscoring streak as he scored a second half effort to earn Wanderers a 1-0 win and condemn neighbours Bury to defeat in the Manchester Senior Cup.

Vaz-Te and full back Rhys Powell had Bolton's best chances of the opening stages but were denied as they found the Shakers keeper Greg Smith in good form.

Experienced striker Graeme Jones had Bury's best effort of the half but the former Wigan player could not get enough accuracy on his header to trouble the Wanderers keeper.

Jones then struck a post for the Gigg Lane club but it was Vaz-Te who struck fifteen minutes from the end to give Wanderers yet another victory in this competition.
