A goal on the hour mark by midfielder Lewis Gobern was enough to give Wolverhampton Wanderers reserves their second victory of the season against relegation rivals Bolton Wanderers last night.

The England U19 star dispossessed Bolton defender Ndiwa Lord Kangana before unleashing a shot from the edge of the area which left goalkeeper Kevin Poole with no chance whatsoever.

Bolton's Spanish striker Javi Moreno, on loan from Athletico Madrid saw his effort cleared off the line but despite fighting in vain the Trotters could not manage to force an equaliser and remain rooted to the bottom of the FA Premier Reserve League.

Another defeat for Neil McDonald's side means they are now four points adrift of last night's opponents Wolves with only four games left to play including three away fixtures which will be the ultimate test for the second string.
