Bolton Reserves suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers on Monday in close affair at the County Ground.

England youth international Robert Sissons gave Wanderers the lead on 15 minutes with a low 22-yard effort, but Keith Barker produced an instant response with a smart finish two minutes later.

Wanderers keeper Sam Ashton produced a fine save from Gary Harkins before Barker teed up Sergio Peter for his first goal of the night.

Ricardo Vaz Te levelled the scores 10 minutes before the break with a superb solo effort - but there was still time for ex-Liverpool star David Thompson to flash an acrobatic volley just wide of the post.

Peter scored the winner on 60 minutes as the action died down in the second period.
