Zalayeta To Choose Spanish Option

Uruguayan centre forward Marcelo Zalayeta is to turn down the chance to play for Bolton in favour of Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

Fulham and Newcastle had also been after the striker in recent weeks but it now seems that Zalayeta will move on loan to Atletico Madrid in a deal which may have suited Sam Allardyce as he continues to put together his side on a shoe string budget.
