Former Bolton Wanderers favourite Youri Djorkaeff is on the verge of completing a move to the New York/New Jersey Metrostars in America.

The World Cup winning veteran has been without a club since leaving Blackburn Rovers during the winter transfer window but is now close to sealing a move which will see him sign a lucrative contract across the pond.

Metrostars coach Bob Bradley was overjoyed that Djorkaeff had agreed to extend his career with the Major League Soccer club.

"We are extremely excited to bring Youri to the MetroStars and Major League Soccer, Youri's experience with the French national team and some of the best clubs in the world will be invaluable to our team. Above all else, he is a tremendous person and is truly motivated for this new challenge in his career."
