Youri To Leave Rovers

It has been confirmed that Youri Djorkaeff will not have his contract renewed by Blackburn Rovers at the end of this month.

The 36-year old World Cup winner signed a short term agreement with the Ewood Park club when Mark Hughes replaced Graeme Souness in the Rovers hotseat but the transfer did not work out as well as expected as the Frenchman suffered a series of injuries.

Ex-Bolton man Djorkaeff, who has also played for Inter Milan, Monaco and Paris Saint Germain, is expected to hang up his boots for good should no other offer be forthcoming although it has been suggested that clubs in his native country are taking an interest in developments.
