Last updated : 20 September 2004 By Mark Heys
Tommorow will see the Wanderers take on Coca Cola League Two side Yeovil Town in Round 2 of the Carling Cup, but what do we know about the Glovers and their players? - here we look at all there is to know about the Somerset club.

The South Western outfit are new to league football having been promoted as champions from the Nationwide Conference in 2003. They finished a creditable eighth place last season in Division Three just missing out on a Play-Off place, prior to that they had built themselves a reputation of being cup giantkillers often knocking out a number of league clubs in the FA Cup competition.

Honours at non-league level are high with no fewer than three Southern League wins and one Istmian league winners titles to add to their conference truimph of just over a year ago. They have also won the Southern League Cup four times and can boast final victories in the Delco Cup, Bob Lord trophy and FA Trophy

MANAGER -

Gary Johnson

Yeovil have been managed by Gary Johnson since the summer of 2001. He replaced former Chelsea and Brentford manager David Webb in the Huish Park hotseat and has experience as a league boss having previously managed Cambridge United at domestic level. This was followed by a highly successful spell in charge of Latvia at international level where he managed to raise the profile of the country.

SQUAD

Chris Weale

Goalkeeper Chris has been the clubs first choice goalkeeper since they came into the league and has often been touted for moves to higher league clubs. Last season he played in the majority of league games for the Glovers but was unfortunate to miss the last eleven games due to a hand injury. Chris has four caps at English Semi Professional level and is tipped for a bright future.

Steve Collis

Steve deputised for the injured Chris Weale for the last eleven games of last season and during that time the Glovers lost just three games. Previously on the books of Watford, Barnet and Nottingham Forest the player has been at Huish Park for three years.

Adam Lockwood

Adam is also in his third year with the club having joined from Reading where he failed to make a league appearance. Is very dangerous from throws and set plays and can fill in either as a full back role or centre back role. Has been a regular in the squad this season.

Michael Rose

Michael is a former Manchester United trainee who ironically had a spell on trial with Bolton a few years ago whilst still at Old Trafford. The full back has also had experience with Chester City and Hereford United prior to his move to the Glovers earlier on this year.

Terry Skiverton

Centre half Terry is one of the few players remaining at Yeovil who faced the Wanderers in an FA Cup tie three years ago. He began as a junior with Chelsea before having a year long spell with Wycombe Wanderers during which time he made a number of football league appearances. He moved into non-league with Welling United before joining the Glovers and is now club captain.

Colin Miles

Colin is very experienced despite only being 26-years old. Already he has served Watford, Morton, Stevenage Boro, Hayes and Dover Athletic. Like fellow defender Skiverton he was part of the Yeovil team to face Bolton in 2001.

Roy O'Brien

Former Arsenal trainee Roy has suffered with injuries in recent seasons but is one of the most experienced players of the Yeovil team. He was a sub against Bolton the last time the two teams met and could feature tommorow. The Irishman has also played for Bournemouth, Dorchester Town and Cork City.

Steve Reed

Young full back Steve came through the Yeovil youth system and made his debut for the Glovers as they headed for Nationwide Conference glory in a game against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Scott Guyett

Scott is well known in the North West area for his spells with Southport and Chester City. The Australian centre half joined Yeovil from Chester over the summer and has had to bide his time on his return to league football.

Darren Way

Midfielder Darren played against Bolton back in 2001 and has been at Yeovil for four years. He is a former Player of the Year who moved to Huish Park from Norwich City back in the summer of 2000. He has already made 12 appearances so far this season.

Paul Terry

Paul is the brother of Chelsea and England defender John Terry. He joined the club last season following a successful spell with Dagenham & Redbridge and made 27 appearances as the Glovers consolidated in Division Three. He has featured regularly this term too.

Lee Johnson

Lee is the son of manager Gary Johnson and is a very versitile member of the squad. He was the hero in the last round for Yeovil as they managed to dispose of higher league opponents in the shape of Plymouth Argyle. The midfielder has played previously for Brentford and Watford.

Adrian Caceres

Argentinian born Adrian has represented Australia at international level and is now in his second spell in English football having previously made fleeting appearances for Premiership side Southampton two years ago. Was a member of the Perth Glory team to win the National Soccer League in Australia last season.

Andy Lindegaard

Andy played against Bolton three years ago wearing the number 11 shirt. Like fellow midfielder Johnson he is very versitile and can play up front if required. Despite his Scandanavian sounding surname he is actually Yeovil born and is now in his fourth season at Huish Park.

Gavin Williams

Gavin is now in his third season at Yeovil having moved from Hereford United in 2002. He can play either as a midfielder or up front and is a Wales Semi Professional international. He has a keen eye for goal and was the clubs top scorer last season which ended by him being voted as the 2003-2004 Player of the season.

Nicholas Mirza

Frenchman Nicholas is a former Paris Saint Germain youth player who was signed by Gary Johnson in the summer of 2004. The youngster is said to have a bright future at Yeovil with the Glovers having to fend off competition from a number of clubs both at home and abroad to land the midfielder.

Kevin Gall

Welsh under 21 international Kevin Gall began his career with Newcastle United and has had a short league spell with Bristol Rovers where he made a considerable amount of substitute appearances. Kevin can play either wide of the midfield or as a striker and is often seen as a source for goals by the Glovers. He scored the clubs first ever league goals with a double in the game against Rochdale last season.

Phil Jevons

Phil began his career in the North West with Everton making his Premiership debut as a teenager against Blackburn Rovers back in the 1998-1999 season. However despite being a regular scorer for the Toffees at youth and reserve level he found chances limited later moving on to Grimsby Town where he became the Mariners Player of the Year last season. He once scored against Liverpool at Anfield with a fine goal from 25-yards. Also had a loan spell with Hull City.

Bartos Tarachulski

Polish born forward Bartos joined Yeovil in the summer following spells with a number of clubs accross the continent including Belgian club Beveran and Israelian club Hapoel-Beer-Shava. He has already hit seven goals this season and is a surprise package in the Yeovil squad.

Dale Williams

Swindon born Dale has been a regular scorer at youth level for the Glovers and is expected to be given more chances over the coming season.

Kezie Ibe

Former Arsenal youth player who was a regular scorer in the Isthmian League with Staines Town. 21-year old Kezie is hoping to continue his further development with the Glovers this season.

Yemi Oudubade

Another summer signing from Non-league football, Yemi played for Eastbourne United last season and managed to hit the net an incredible 34 times. Like fellow striker Ibe he will be hoping that the transition to league football is smooth.

Andrejs Stolcers

A high profile capture by Gary Johnson during the summer. Andrejs is a Latvian international who was released by Premiership side Fulham. The 30-year old can play either as an attacking midfielder or as a forward. His chances at Craven Cottage where limited and Johnson did very well to bring his experience to Huish Park.

Liam Fontaine

Youngster Liam is another player with Fulham connections. He moved to the South West from Craven Cottage on loan at the beginning of the 2004-2005 season and is settling in well at the heart of the Glovers defence.
