Whitlow's Side Of the Story

Whitlow has given his side of the story regarding Andy Cole's sending off against Blackburn on Saturday. Souness branded Whitlow a "cheat" and "play-actor", claims that Whitlow and Sam Allardyce were keen to refute.

"It was a silly tackle on Andy Cole but I've got five stud-marks down my calf. The only person who said anything to me was Garry Flitcroft who told me get up because he didn't think Cole had caught me." Whitlow protested.

"The only time I smiled was when Souness was five yards away from the touchline calling me a donkey and a cheat. He is wrong in calling me that."
