Whaley Attracts Interest

With 18 months left on Whaley's contract, Bury manager Chris Casper insists the midfielder will not leave the League Two club on the cheap.

"There is a lot of interest in Simon, but at the same time, he's got to be focused to do a job for us," Casper said.

"If the fee's not right, then he's not going.

"Everybody's got their price, but it's going to have to be a very good price to get him away.

"We're not going to just give him away, there's no question about that.

"He's a level-headed lad and I'm sure he'll make the right decision.

"I'm sure he's got the ambition to play in The Premiership."

Meanwhile, Jussi Jaaskelainen is yet to sign his new contract, despite agreeing basic terms six months ago. Now talk over a new deal for the Finnish international will not take place until the summer.

"We agreed terms in the summer, but there were issues," his agent Peter Harrison told skysports.com.

"It has now been decided that we will talk again at the end of the season."
