MATCH PREVIEW

New owners, a new manager and a new season, but it was the same old West Ham on display at Aston Villa last weekend.

West Ham have got a fantastic squad of players, and a big squad of players, so they could chop and change and bring more quality in... We have to be ready to do our best and play at the top of our game

Bolton boss Owen Coyle

The Hammers registered just a single shot on target against Villa as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat. It was a dreadful start to the new job for Avram Grant, whose side were thoroughly outplayed in a disjointed and nervy display.

Next up is Bolton, who are chasing a sixth successive victory over the Hammers. Wanderers began their season with a goalless draw against another London club, Fulham. Although manager Owen Coyle will have been disappointed with his side's lack of cutting edge, he will have been delighted with a first clean sheet of the season, something that took 21 games to achieve last term.

West Ham's last seven Premier League victories all came at Upton Park. Given that their next two league games are against Manchester United and Chelsea, they will be desperate to get their season up and running here.
