Sam Allardyce is hoping that his side will stay in the chase for European qualification after Monday's win over local rivals Manchester City catapulted the Trotters into the top six.

Bolton now have a more than possible chance of finishing in one of the European places at the end of the season thanks to their recent form which has seen them lose just one game in twelve matches.

The change around in form has even exceeded the expectations of the Wanderers manager Allardyce who at one point could not forsee such a run taking place having seen his side lose all of the games throughout December.

"We went into the West Brom game on Jan 1 staring at seven defeats on the trot - even I would not have thought 10 games on we would be in the top six. But we are, and that is a great credit to the players for their will and determination to stay in the top half." he said
