Warning For El-Hadji

Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce has warned El-Hadji Diouf ahead of their clash with Wigan Athletic and a rematch with Arjan de Zeeuw.

Bolton striker Diouf, 24, comes face-to-face with Wigan skipper De Zeeuw on Sunday for the first time since spitting in the former Portsmouth defender's face last season.

And Reebok chief Allardyce warned: "What happened against Portsmouth last season was the low point of Diouf's career. I hope we don't see a repeat of that.

"But he is being reasonably good at the moment.

"Maybe that's because he's not on loan any more and feels more settled."

Allardyce has also told Diouf to be more consistent on the pitch if he wants to stay in his long term plans after the international star was dropped for the Portsmouth match on Saturday.

"Diouf may think he has made himself popular here, but the level of performance has to stay the same," said Allardyce.

"Otherwise he will get the boot up the backside like he got at Liverpool."
