Former Bolton Wanderers favourite Paul Warhurst has joined league new boys Chester City on trial as he hopes to impress during his time at the Deva Stadium.

The 35-year old left the Reebok Stadium a year ago and has since turned out for four different league clubs all of whom offered the veteran star month to month terms. He was latterly on the books at Grimsby Town but the Mariners decided not to keep the player following their demotion to League Two.

Former England U21 international Warhurst hopes that he can agree a longer term arrangement with Mark Wright's team as they return to the league after a four year absence.

Meanwhile Wanderers out of favour striker Mario Jardel is said to be interesting the Argentinian club Newells Old Boys. Jardel has fallen way down the Bolton pecking order due to the arrivals of Michael Bridges and Les Ferdinand.
