Bolton Wanderers reportedly had representatives watching Senegal striker Mamadou Niang during Strasbourg's match with Nice at the weekend and Wanderers are beleived to be one of a quartet of Premiership clubs interested in the former FC Metz and Troyes player.

Liverpool have shown previous interest in the 23-year old whilst scouts from Southampton and Leeds United where also thought to be present at the weekend to see the striker who has hit 6 goals in 5 games in La Championnat.

The Senegal international only joined Strasbourg in the summer and although he is happy at the Stade de la Meinau he pointed out he is keen to further his career at a future date perhaps in the FA Premiership.

"I know that some teams start to watch me because of my good beginning to the season. My goal is to progress and to go one day in a famous club. I don't have any plan for my career, but I hope that Strasbourg will be a step in my career even if I'm not focused on my future yet."
