Bolton Wanderers had three players on international duty last night as Jussi Jaaskelainen, Stelios Giannakopoulos and Donovan Ricketts all represented their respective countries.

Winger Giannakopoulos was part of the Greece team that lost 4-0 to Holland for their first defeat in 15 games. All of the goals where scored in the second half by Middlesbrough midfielder Boudwijn Zenden, former Celtic and Nottingham Forest striker Pierre Van-Hooijdonk, Roy Maakay and John Heitinga.

Keeper Jaaskelainen also suffered international defeat when the Finnish squad he was part of lost 1-0 to Bosnia-Herzegovina courtesy of a late goal by Bayern Munich player Zvjezdan Misimovic.

There was better news for fellow goalkeeper Ricketts who helped his side to a 2-1 victory over Venezuela with goals coming from debutant Marlon King, of Nottingham Forest and Andy Williams.
