Wanderers suffer massive Laville blow

Bolton Wanderers have been rocked by the news that Florent Laville will be sidelined for up to six months after results of a scan revealed that the player had ruptured a cruciate ligament in his left knee during Saturday's win over Middlesbrough.

The former Olympique Lyonaisse player was stretchered off 26 minutes into the game against the Teesiders on Saturday after falling awkwardly and results of a scan which took place yesterday have confirmed the clubs worst fears as the influential centre half will now miss half of the season.

Manager Sam Allardyce, like the fans was naturally disappointed to lose such a commanding presence in the Wanderers defence and it leaves the club once again short on numbers at the back

"It's come as a massive blow to the football club especially as it's in an area where we are short on numbers. With it happening early in the season it leaves us until January to get someone else in unless we can find an out of contract player somewhere in the world to fill the gap" said the dejected Bolton boss

Bruno N'Gotty, who himself made a return from injury on Saturday scoring the winner, is expected to fill in for the short term whilst youngster Nicky Hunt can also play in the centre of the defence as can Paul Warhurst who has recently re-signed for the club. However the loss of the Frenchman Laville, who was so important in Bolton's survival last season will be a huge, huge loss for the club.

Bolton MAD wishes "The Rock" a speedy recovery.
