Bolton Wanderers have been dealt with a fresh injury blow with the news that forward Youri Djorkaeff could be missing for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury picked up during Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Birmingham City.

The Frenchman hobbled off the pitch in the 47th minute during the clash at St Andrews and was replaced by Danish striker Henrik Pedersen for the remainder of the game.

Djorkaeff's place could be taken by Greek international Stelios Giannakopoulos who has been knocking on the first team door since recovering from an ankle injury which put him on the sidelines for three matches. Henrik Pedersen, his replacement on Saturday and Javi Moreno may also be contenders to fill the void left by the World Cup winner.

Meanwhile Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed that Emerson Thome's omission from the Bolton squad for the match against the Blues was because the Brazilian picked up an ankle injury in training.
