Wanderers Linked To Duo

Speculation has linked Bolton Wanderers with moves for Brentford defender Ibrahima Sonko and Sogndal midfielder Rune Buer Johansen when the January Transfer window opens.

Senegalese born defender Sonko joined the Bees last season following three years with French club Grenoble and is rated as one of the best defenders in the Second Division, his form at Griffin Park has lead to many scouts making note of his progress. The 22-year old has been capped by Senegal at U21 level and is the current captain of the U23 side but it remains to be seen whether Wally Downes will resist temptation to sell the youngster.

Johansen meanwhile was reportedly recommended to the club by former Captain Gudni Bergsson. The 30-year old former Norway U21 player will be on a Bosman Free Transfer from Sogndal but with the midfield having much competition at Bolton it is thought that any move for the former Kongsvinger player will be as a squad measure.
