Wanderers Head East

Bolton Wanderers will head East this summer after it was announced that the club will take part in the Premier League Asia Trophy in a tournament which will also include the Thai national team and the Wanderers Premiership rivals Manchester City and Everton.

Also the Trotters will face two clubs from Japan and two clubs from Korea during their time in the Far-East.

Sam Allardyce, manager of Bolton, says that it will provide his players with a new experience in an area of the world that is renound for its heavy interest in football.

"It is fantastic news that the Club will be touring the Far East this summer.It is an honour to be representing the Premier League in such a prestigious tournament in Bangkok.

"It is always important to face strong opposition in pre-season so that you are ready for the new season. This tournament provides Bolton with the sort of competitive environment we will face come August as well as the chance to show the Thai people what my team can achieve."

"The final leg of the tour in Japan, will offer us a new experience against top class J-League opposition. Japan is fast becoming the hot bed of world football and to experience the hype first hand will be tremendous.

"The profile of the Club is widening by the day and it gives us further opportunity to promote the Bolton Wanderers brand in an area that loves its football."
