Wanderers Face Spurs In Carling Cup

Bolton Wanderers will face a tough home tie in the next round of the Carling Cup after being drawn up against Premiership rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Former internationals Ray Clemence and Denis Irwin did the draw live on SKY television following Spurs 6-0 demolition of the Trotters Lancashire neighbours Oldham Athletic.

The tie will take place on the week commencing 25th October 2004 and will come just a few days after Bolton make the journey to White Hart Lane in the Premiership.

League Cup fixtures against the London side are always full of incident, back in December 2001 a Les Ferdinand hat-trick sent Spurs onto a 6-0 victory in round four whilst November 1996 saw then Division One side Bolton hand out the cup humilation in a 6-1 win.
