Lifelong Wanderers supporter Fred Dibnah has died at the age of 66 following a brave three year battle with bladder cancer.

The famous steeplejack passed away at a Bolton hospice on Saturday lunchtime surrounded by friends and family. He was a well known figure throughout the town and appeared in a number of BBC documentaries such as Industrial Age and Age of Steam.

Fred, who gained the MBE earlier this year, has been married three times and leaves behind six children.

Everyone at BoltonMAD would like to pass on it's condolences to the Dibnah family
