Walker To Become A Wanderer

Bolton Wanderers have moved for out of contract Leicester City goalkeeper Ian Walker.

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has offered a contract to the 33-year-old, who was released in May. The former Tottenham and England goalkeeper would bring a wealth of experience to the team as they embark on their first European campaign, with reports suggesting Walker has until the end of the week to decide whether or not he wants to provide cover for current No1 Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Birmingham City and Southampton have also been linked with Walker, but Bolton seem keen to add the goalie to their ranks for the new season.

It remains to be seen if the prospect of Premiership and Uefa Cup football will be enough to entice Walker into moving to Lancashire even though he would play second fiddle to current No1 Jaaskelainen.
