Viander Joins Pilgrims

Former Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jani Viander has joined Plymouth Argyle on trial as they look to find a replacement for the injured Romain Larreiu.

The Pilgrims currently have 20-year old Luke McCormick between the sticks at Home Park but the injury to the Frenchman Larreiu has lead them to take a look at Finnish international Viander in a reserve game this week in the hope that he will be able to cover McCormick in the short term.

Viander 28, played one FA Cup game for the Wanderers against Stockport County back in the 2001-2002 season when on loan from HJK Helsinki and has been without a club this season following his departure from Stoke City and has subsequently been unsuccesful in trials at Crystal Palace and Luton Town as well as spells on the continent with De Graafschap and Beveren.
