Vaz Te Waiting In The Wings

Portuguese striker Ricardo Vaz-Te has told fellow Bolton forwards that he is ready to take their place should he get the nod from manager Sam Allardyce.

"I'm still a kid and I've got a lot to learn, I respect the players who are in the starting eleven every weekend, because they are good enough, and I know I have to wait until they slip. But I'm not going to make it easy for anybody.

"I'm doing all I can to get a place in the team and get more games and more goals. I'm never happy with what I've got. I always expect more."

New signings this summer have not demotivated Vaz-Te in the slightest, with the youngster claiming that the pressure is all on them to produce the goods.

"The ones coming in have got names already. For me, they are just another challenge but it's also going to be more pressure for them that another kid is breaking through. I hope they do all right but I'll keep putting the pressure on them."
