Trotters Transfer News

Long-term defensive target Cesar has admitted that he wants to quit Spanish side Deportivo La Caruna for a move to England this summer.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has been alerted by the admission of the Spaniard after just missing out on his signature during the January transfer window.

Liverpool's German midfielder Didi Hamann has spoken of how he is torn between staying at Anfield and fighting for a first team place next season, or taking up an offer made to him by Bolton where he would experience regular first-team Premiership football.

Hamann said, "I'm deciding what's the best thing to do."

"My heart is with Liverpool, but obviously I have to consider everything I've been told and do what's right.

"The decision to sell me has not entirely come as a shock to me, but deciding whether to go or not is very hard for me.

"I'll be back in England later this week and that's when I'll decide whether to go to Bolton. They're the only club which have shown any interest.

"It could still go either way, but now I've got to think carefully about what's best for my future."

Luton Town midfielder Carlos Edwards added to his reputation after a powerful performance for Trinidad & Tobago in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Sweden alerting Fulham, Charlton and Bolton.

Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce is set to bid for want-away Wigan Athletic striker Jason Roberts.

Roberts has rejected a contract extension at the JJB Stadium and has been offered a double-your-money deal by Turkey's Besiktas to the tune of £28,000-a-week.

Allardyce hopes to keep Roberts in the Premiership and sees the Grenadine as the ideal strike-partner for Kevin Davies.
