Tuncay joined Wolfsburg from Stoke in January but has not been the success in the Bundesliga many were expecting.
He could, however, be heading back to England this summer, with Sky Sports claiming Bolton are weighing up a move.
Tuncay has previously shone in the Premier League with Middlesbrough, for whom he scored 17 goals in two seasons at the Riverside Stadium.
