Trialists Updates

Bolton Wanderers have announced that four trialists will be joining them on their mini tour of Portugal this week with Hassan Kachloul, Tal Ben Haim, Emerson and Cyril Rool the players in question.

Kachloul is well known to followers of the English game having spent the last six years in the Premiership with Southampton, Aston Villa and Wolves. Sam Allardyce will be hoping that the Moroccan can put a disappointing spell with Villa behind him and kick start his career at the Reebok.

Haim impressed during Saturday's friendly win over Radcliffe Boro with the club deciding to take the Israelian with them on tour to take an extended look. However Bolton may be forced to pay some sort of compensation if Maccabi Tel Aviv's contract claims prove to have some justification.

Emerson has been handed a second chance after initially being rejected by Big Sam. Although impressive during the win over Dundee United the player looked to be heading elsewhere for a contract but the Bolton boss has had a change of heart.

Rool has recently left RC Lens and has a wealth of experience in the French league with Monaco, Marseille and Lens amongst others. He is a long term target of Bolton and will be hoping that he can earn his first move across the continent to join the English Premiership.

Jordi Cruyff will not be joining the club for the new season. The player has spent the past month on trial but the club felt that their resources could be better used on other players.

Meanwhile former Wanderers defender Steve Howey is back in England after undergoing a trial with Sheffield United. The 32-year old made 3 appearances for Bolton at the tail end of last season and has recently completed a stint in the USA with New England Revolution.
