Egypt international Ahmed Hassan has revealed he chose Anderlecht over offers from Bolton and Blackburn Rovers.

"If I had waited another two weeks I would have had concrete offers from Blackburn and Bolton," he said.

"Celtic have also followed me very closely, but Anderlecht were so insistent and open with me that I decided to come here."

Meanwhile, Fulham have joined Wigan, Bolton and Tottenham in the race to sign Leyton Orient's young Congolese central defender Gaby Zakuani.

Zakuani, who recently signed a new contract at Brisbane Road, is valued at around £1million.

Bolton and Everton are also showing an interest in West Bromich Albion full-back Paul Robinson.

Robinson has been one of the consistent performers for Albion since his move from Watford three years ago.

Stories are linking Robbo with a move back to the Premiership with Bolton showing the greater interest.
