Tick-Tock

Sam Allardyce has spoken about his frustration in the transfer market this summer and how time is running out to sign more players before the transfer window closes next month.

Allardyce said, "The transfer scene is getting tough for us and extremely frustrating. By now, I would have hoped that the majority of my targets would have been signed up, but that is not the case. We have to stick to our plans and remain confident that new recruits will join us in time for the new season. Time is running out but most clubs are in the same boat.

"It does scupper your plans because I would rather be in Thailand managing the squad. I have left things in the capable hands of Sammy Lee but i'm looking forward to getting back into training mode with the players."
