"He is good in the air and has a real dig in his left foot but he's still got to bring himself up to the speed of the Premier League," said the Wanderers chief.

"In the final 20 minutes of the last two games he has been shattered.

"So, he has got to put more into his training so he will have a better chance of succeeding."
