Sven Should Look At Nolan - Allardyce

England coach Sven Goran Eriksson should look to the Bolton Wanderers midfielder Kevin Nolan as a replacement for the injured Steven Gerrard says Trotters boss Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce feels that the young Liverpudlian has performed to a consistent level since Bolton where promoted to the Premiership in 2001 and feels that it is only a matter of time before the 22-year old is given his chance at full international level.

The highest level that Nolan has been capped so far is at U21 level but now he is above the age limit there has been a strong suggestion that the in form midfielder should go onto the next stage something which the Bolton boss believes is possible providing he keeps putting in the work rate he has done of late.

"This lad has been scoring in the Premiership for the last three years and can't always be ignored, He has goals in him. Kevin just needs to concentrate and play for us first of all. He needs to keep his head down and keep scoring."

"I don't think the coach (Eriksson) is in the habit of introducing new players into the flock especially at such a crucial stage in the qualifiers and such a young player at that. But perhaps he might choose to have him along and see what he is like in training and let him experience it."
