Stuart Holden back in Bolton training

The United States midfielder had been sidelined since he was forced off against Manchester United on March 19 but celebrated his 26th birthday on Monday by joining in with his team-mates.

He Tweeted: 'Best bday present 2 be kicking balls and running outside after 5 months out! Not long now!'

Holden needed 26 stitches in his knee following a challenge from United defender Jonny Evans in Wanderers' 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

Bolton start the new Barclays Premier League campaign at QPR on August 13.
