Greek midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos has said that he would like to remain in England when his contract expires in just under two years time.

The European championship winner and Greece regular is hopeful of earning a better deal at the Reebok Stadium once his current contract ends in the summer of 2006.

"My contract finishes at the end of next season. I would like to stay in England as it is one of the best leagues in the world. If I can get a better contract here it would be brilliant,"

But the winger/attacker was keeping his options open with regards to his next move and looks back to the days when he was playing regular Champions League football in his homeland with Olympiakos

"In football you never know. I will honour my contract and then we will think about the future. Success is not something that is strange to me. I was with a club that won seven titles in a row and played in the Champions League every season. I am a regular in the Bolton squad. Everything is going well personally apart from the results."
