Stelios To The European Champions?

European Champions Liverpool have reportedly tabled a bid in the region of £1million for Greek star Stelios Giannakopoulos.

The Reds had shown an interest in the wide man last season when Giannakopoulos netted 8 times for Bolton helping them achieve a season best of 6th place in the Premiership.

The UEFA Cup qualifiers are predicted to resist the cash though, due to lack of squad members as they look to build a healthy squad for their first European Campaign next season.

Sam Allardyce has only added El-Hadji Diouf to the Bolton squad so far this summer and a replacement for Giannakopoulos would be difficult to find, although the temptation of playing for the European Champions could be a deciding factor in the deal with Stelios already making clear Liverpool is an attractive option.
