Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos once again showed his impressive credentials in front of goal when he struck Greece's first goal in the 2-1 friendly win over Sweden last night.

The 29-year old, who joined Bolton from Olympiakos in the summer equalised for his country on 63 minutes after Southampton's Anders Svensson had given the Swedes the lead in the first half, a further goal from Pantelis Kafes gave the Greeks the win and this will surely be good preparation for Giannakopoulos going into this weekend's derby game with Blackburn Rovers.

Meanwhile former Wanderers striker Nathan Blake played for Wales as they went down 1-0 against Serbia & Montenegro in Belgrade, the Wolves striker replaced the injured Celtic striker John Hartson in the Welsh attack.
