Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos has said that the team needs to convert their chances in front of goal when they are in a position of dominence as was the case during Saturday's clash with Chelsea.

The Trotters put in an excellent performance during the weekend clash against the Blues but unfortunately their inconsistency in front of goal told its own story as two goals twenty minutes from time by John Terry and Damien Duff ensured that the points went back down to London and Stelios admits Bolton should have made their first half dominence count.

"Against a club like Chelsea if you don't take advantage of the good performance you are having - you don't score - you get punishment" he told the official site

"We had a lot of opportunities to score and as I have said if you don't score you get punished."

Giannakopoulos also remarked on the performance of the team and says that a momentary lapse in concentration stopped them from getting more out of the game.

"I'm not surprised at how well we played because I expect for myself and for all of the club to do well especially in these matches because everybody is watching you. We switched off for two minutes and got punished" he added
