Bolton Wanderers midfielder Gary Speed has denied reports that he is about to be involved on the Wales coaching staff once a new national coach is appointed to replace the Blackburn Rovers bound Mark Hughes.

It was suggested that the current Welsh captain Speed would link up with his former Newcastle United boss Sir Bobby Robson in a new management dream team but the veteran midfielder claims he knows nothing about the reports.

"I've not heard anything like that, So, as far as I'm concerned, yes (it's nonsense)." he told SKY Sports news

Speed has expressed a wish to move into coaching once his playing days are over but at the moment he is fully focused on his playing duties for both his club and country.
